THINGS TO DO TO MY C-22
by David Lyon

(Article Appeared in August 1999 TellTales Publication)

I was talking with Ted McGee a few weeks ago about things we could share with other Fleet 58 members that make our boats more comfortable, enjoyable, efficient, faster, etc. The next thing I know I had volunteered to write a column each month about some product or improvement that one or more of our Fleet members have or have done. My job is not to endorse the product or improvement, but to report on it, tell you who has one or has done something, and let you talk with them to see if it’s something you want to buy or try to duplicate. So, with the idea of telling you of some things that are out there?..here comes the first article.

BREEZE BOOSTER

This product was developed by the President of a packaging company, and a very fine sailor, who wanted a way to force air down the forward hatch of a sailboat without going through the trouble to attaching things to halyards, etc. The breeze booster installs in seconds, and creates a wonderful flow of air from the forward hatch through the cabin. It folds up into a size about like a golf umbrella, and weighs about the same. Different sizes are available?.newer model C-22’s, with the hatch on a slope, will need the large size. Older boats can use the smaller size. Check the companies web site www.breezebooster.com to get the right size. You can see this product in person by talking with Ted McGee or David Lyon. You can order a Breezebooster from the West Marine catalog or by ordering directly from the company’s web site.
