Quick Tips #6 - Convoluted Foam
by Bob and Trish Endicott

We like to sleep in the V-berth rather than break down the dinette, but found the foam a little TOO firm for our liking. I cut two pieces of convoluted (egg-crate) foam, each the size of half the V-berth. Trish then took a couple of old but serviceable sheets and made "pillowcases" for them. At the pointy end, she sewed two straps (same material rolled to several thicknesses) allowing us to roll our foam pads up like sleeping bags during the day. They stow easily, remove for washing and eliminate the hassle of trying to tuck a fitted sheet around those V-berth cushions. Plus we sleep a lot better.
